Yesterday's gathering was a picnic for families with some old fashioned games like welly wanging and tug of war as well as tractor rides and live music from our local ukelele band. All laid on completely for free and with no fund-raising agenda.
The event was also a good excuse to share round the various batches of cider that have been maturing around the village since our apple day last autumn. Jim has turned our keg's worth into a slightly sparkling cider, which actually isn't half bad!
Some of the terracotta plates we used for our picnic are part of the new Dunelm Mediterranean Collection and to celebrate the launch of the new dishes, I have a chip and dip plate and a ceramic tapas dish to give away to one winner.
